    Lexile Reading Levels

Lexile levels are an important factor in book selection.  At the Florence MS/HS Library, a book's lexile measurement is just one factor in book selection. A student's individual lexile range spans 50 points above to 100 points below a individual score.  That score is pinpointed at a 75% comprehension level.  One  example for a particular book would be Lawn Boy, by Gary Paulsen.  This book has a lexile level of 780.  It's reading level would typically be suitable for 10 through 16 year olds. The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins has a lexile level of 810.
